Font Awesome is awesome! But most projects only use a handful of icons. Instead of loading the icons using a web font, use SVGs. By using embedded SVGs you save bandwidth, increase your page speed and prevent FOUC (flash of unstyled content). This gem makes embedding font awesome icons easy for Rails and Middleman projects.
